Chris and I have been friends since freshman year in high school. We ran around with the same group of people pretty much the whole time. Sophomore year, she went off to the new high school, but we all still stayed in touch. She was the coolest - she let me drive her Galant on my 16th birthday (she had been 16 for four months already). She lived in this really cool house (her mom still lives there) and had a pool in her backyard. Anyway, like most high school friendships go, we lost touch, but not for long - when I worked for the hotel reservation center in '99 and '00, she was working there as well! Then we lost touch again when I left for the computer company... again, not for too long. I was in for my *ahem* exam in July 2003, and ran into her in the second waiting room. She was super-pregnant with the little B man. Lather, rinse, repeat until 2006 when our group of friends from high school planned a mini reunion one afternoon. I sent her a message on Myspace, or Crystal called her mom's house that day (of course I still have the phone number memorized) and luckily, she was able to join us! We've managed to stay in touch thanks to Facebook over the last few years. She brought B in last year when I was working at the pottery studio to make Christmas gifts for her mom, and then when she saw I was going to be trying out this photography thing, she was quick to jump on board!
Anyway, here are some of the edits I did. Thanks Chris and Braedon for helping me out Saturday! :)

Thanks!
Just wanted to say a quick "Thanks!" to everyone who has taken a couple minutes out of their busy schedules (or not so busy?) to check out my photoblog. I truly appreciate it!
I have also created a Facebook page - please feel free to "like!"
This has been so much fun for me, and I look forward to whatever might be in store for me!
Just an FYI - I will be at the OPPD Arboretum Saturday (11/6), not totally sure of the times yet, but if anyone is interested in having some quick photos taken (Christmas Cards?), message me and I'll let you know when I'll be there so you can stop by for a quick photo op! :)

Nafzigers Family Photos
After looking at Amelia's pictures on Facebook last week, Kelly decided to have me take some pictures of her family Saturday morning.
I've worked with Kelly forever at the computer company. She is such a loving, caring friend to anyone she meets and is fiercly loyal (her words)... unless you do her wrong. ;)
I'll never forget my 25th birthday dinner with my mom and my brother (Kelly won't let me forget it either). I was a little tipsy at Cheeseburger in Paradise. Kelly happened to be there celebrating a friend's birthday as well. She spotted me (I think, again, tipsy) and came over to our table and sat down for a few minutes. She got up and walked away, and I believe I said something to the effect of the volume of her voice... "She's super loud..." In this case, I was super loud because she heard me. Retrieve foot, insert into mouth. Anyway, I think we're over it for the most part.
I've hung out with her family numerous times - she is typically the life of the party (because she's so damn loud ;) ), loves to entertain, etc. etc. Her daughter, Taylor, had a baby, Vanessa, on my dog's birthday (1/30/09), so that makes her uber-cool in my book. Seriously, Vanessa gives little girls a run for their money on the cuteness factor. You can see why!

Fall Pics - Amelia
Amelia is my Saturday night date just about every weekend, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Funny story how I came to know Amelia and her parents, Joe and Adrienne. November 2008 - I was looking on Craig's List at the childcare ads as I did so frequently at that time. I happened to come across an ad with the title "Looking for Weekend Sitter Near My House (we'll say...), so I thought, what the heck, I'll give it a shot. I sent an email to the Craig's List ad, and really, the rest is history. Adrienne and I went to the same high school (although she graduated before I was a freshman) and we know quite a few of the same people, so it seemed like fate that I saw that ad and responded. Joe and Adrienne are like siblings, and Amelia is a niece. Sometimes I think, "What if I'd never seen that ad?" It almost brings me to tears. I can't imagine life without this family.
Anyhoo... Amelia and I had our Saturday night date, and I brought the camera along. We raked the leaves into a pile and I sat in the grass for probably 10 minutes and let Amelia jump in the pile, throw the leaves, all kinds of fun 3 year old stuff. Here are the results.
And, my personal favorite...
Here is the rest of the album...

Kaylyn and Troy
So here is my first attempt at marriage photos. Notice the word marriage.
Troy is my stepbrother. He and Kaylyn got engaged at Christmas and were planning their wedding for September 2011. Troy was deployed to Baghdad in May (well, deployed in May, went overseas in July). He was home on leave from October 6-21. He and Kaylyn decided to get married on October 19th. I offered to take some photographs for them. It was a lot of fun, and I look forward to doing more! :)
They will still have their marriage blessed at their wedding next September at Kaylyn's church.
Congratulations to Kaylyn and Troy, and stay safe over in that sandbox Troy... Love you both!

Hi.
Hi. I'm Carly. I like to take pictures and edit them on Picnik. I also like to dabble in arts and crafts. I worked at a paint-your-own-pottery studio for a while earlier this year, and I also taught myself how to make beaded bracelets and hair bows/barrettes for girls and dogs. And boys too, I guess.
Some of the blogs on my blogroll are other photographers as well. I decided to start this blog as a showcase for my photos and crafts because I am a copy cat. Isn't imitation the highest form of flattery?
Anyway, stay tuned for some fun stuff.
